Prize Giving Ceremony – National Meelad Competition 2021

Prize giving ceremony for the winners of the National Milad-un-Nabi Competition was held on Sunday 26.12.2021 at Gafoor Hall, Zahira College, Colombo.

The Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs conducts the National Milad-un-Nabi Competition every year. At this point this year’s competitions took place online due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The inaugural prize giving ceremony for the winners of the competition was inaugurated on 19 October, 2021 at the Temple Trees under the patronage of Hon. Mahinda Rajapaksa, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.

Following this, the Prize Giving Ceremony to other winners was held at the Zahira College Hall, Colombo under the chairmanship of Ibrahim Ansar, Director, Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs. The Chief Guest was Uva Province Governor Mr. A.J.M. Muzammil. The guests of honor Hon. Cader Masthan, Member of Parliament, Mr. Hasan Moulana, Coordinator of Muslim Religious Affairs for the Hon. Prime Minister, Mr. Farzan Mansoor, Coordinator to the Hon. Prime Minister on Muslim Religious Affairs, and General Secretary of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama, Ashsheick Arkam Nooramith also participated in the event.
