Service No 01 : Registration of Mosques and Appointment of Mosque Trustees

1.1 Eligibility :

  • The mosque should have been established before a minimum period of six months
  • Mosque Trustees should take necessary action to register all the mosques under the section No 10(1), 10 (2) of Wakf Act

  • If there is any special statement of the person who wakf the mosque, related document should be submitted.
  • Constitution of the Mosque
  • List of Fixxed assets which belongs to the Mosque
  • Annual Accounts statement of the mosque since established year
  • Reports of the meeting held for appointing of new trustees
  • List names along with signatures of the persons in jamath who participated in the above meeting.
  • Affidavit
  • Statement of Trustee Board
  • List of Jamath members
  • Recommendation letter from neighbouring jumma mosques for refrgistration of Mosque/Thakkiya/Zaviya
    A cheque/money order worth of Rs.20.00, drawn under the name of Muslim charities Fund

  • Activities which are recently took place.
  • List of the participants who took part in meeting held for selecting the administrative officers of the college. (with their signatures)
  • Disciplinary manual of the college for the Teachers and the Students
  • Snaps of the Front view, Classrooms, Toilets, Bathrooms and Hostels etc should be submitted with the rubber stamp placed behind the snaps

  • Should be Muslims who are eligible to perform Hajj Pilgrimage

  • A period of 05 months for National level competitions

15.1      Eligibility :

  • Should be Muslims of Sri Lanka who are willing go to Saudi Arabia for working purpose

15.2      Method of submitting application:-

Service No 16 : Allocating Fund for Construction/ Renovation/Improvement/ of Mosques and Islamic Religious Institutions

16.1      Eligibility :

  • The mosque should have been established before a minimum period of six months
  • The mosque should be registered under this Department according to the section No 10(1), 10 (2) of Wakf Act

16.2      Method of submitting application:-

  • Submit directly by hand at the Department

16.3      Period taken to provide the Service (Ordinary Service and Priority Service)

Fund will be allocated for each eligible institution at the beginning according to the available provision and will be released as the Department receives money. This task carries a number of process and the funds will be issued after receiving the approval of Hon. Minister for all the eligible applications submitted on time.

16.4      Process and necessary Supporting documents

  1. The religious institutions which have the necessity must submit the duly filled application form to the Department. The details of the development work should be mentioned in a letter head of respective Jumma mosque and the letter should be recommended by the board of Trustees of the same Jumma Mosque.
  2. An estimate prepared for the money they would expect would be spent for the work to be done should also be submitted to the Department.
  3. Considering the provisions allocated for the Department each year and the number of applications received in the same year, the allocation of essential fund for each request will be determined and allocated by the Director.
  4. The relevant religious institutions will be informed by letters about the amount of fund allocated for them. Then they should prepare another estimate that would meet the allocated amount and it should be reached to the Department with the certification of the relevant Divisional Secretary.
  5. The funds will be provided through separate cheques after the approval is taken by the Minister in charge for all the estimates presented on time
  6. After the completion of development work, a report should be prepared on physical and financial progress and should submit to Department through the Divisional Secretary.

17.1      Eligibility :
